was born in Budapest in 1962. I
got a degree in history and literature.
First, I
took up a job as book editor. After the transition, in the
90ies I started working in the Hungarian Radio, first
as editor in chief of Literature Department, and after
that as head of Art Department. Now I work as
editor in chief of litera.hu, Hungary's leading portal of
contemporary Hungarian literature.
Apart
from my first book of interviews with contemporaries, in 1993, I
published 12 volumes of prose works, short stories and novels so
far. My 12. novel was published in April of 2009 with the
title: Love years - Cowardice.
My very
first publication, a short novel, won a literary prize in 1992. I received
several prizes for my books and for my work as editor in chief.
I
write plays, screenplays, and teach on the University of Theatre,
Film and Television in Budapest.
In december of 2010 I was elected to the president of Motion Pictures State Foundation of Hungary.
My short
stories and novels were translated in several languages.
I live in Budapest with my family.
